If you're looking for a great new metal band, look no further than Volbeat. Even though they have been around for a while, I still consider them a newer band and probably one of the greatest things to happen to metal music in years. The album that I've been listening to is called Above Heaven Beyond Hell.

It starts out with a song called "The Mirror and the Ripper." The pounding of the drums mixed with the fast guitar riffs start to blast through the speakers as Michael Poulsen begins to belt out lyrics that can't be understood unless you read the words on the inside of the album cover. The music and vocals would remind you of The Misfits, especially since Michael Poulsen's voice sounds just like Glenn Danzig. Next comes one of their best known songs, "Heaven Nor Hell." You'll know this song right off the bat because of the single drum beat in the beginning. They have many other amazing songs that have been brilliantly written and geniusly recorded, especially one of their other huge hits, "A Warrior’s Call." This happens to be the song that introduced me to Volbeat. I even saw them live in concert a few years ago along with Lacuna Coil, Motorhead, and Megadeth. They put on a very good show and I enjoyed it very much. It was actually kind of funny because when they took the stage they all had gelled up, slick backed hair and by the end of their set, it was drooping in their faces. I recommend listening to their music and seeing them live whenever you have the chance. They're a great band that I hope will last a long time.
