Gravity is an intense film that keeps your heart pounding and on the edge of your seat the entire time. Starring Sandra Bullock as Dr. Ryan Stone and George Clooney as Mike Kowalsky, they make a dynamic duo of main characters, hurtling through the deep realms of space. Dr. Ryan Stone is an experienced, intelligent medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, while Mike Kowalsky is a veteran astronaut. A Russian nuclear test scatters debris all over their Explorer shuttle, leaving it torn apart.

Dr. Stone plays a very strong role in this movie. Even though the impact of the debris kills off everyone in the shuttle, she lives on to escape the depths of space, as does Kowalsky. Losing connection to Earth through their radios, they both are left to discover a method of returning home safely.

Life or death decisions are made throughout the course of the film, only making it that much more edgy. Feelings are provoked from the audience as the madness goes on, and the insane scenes take place in such an unknown territory known as the universe. Overall, I think Sandra Bullock, as star of the film, is a lithe leading lady whom was perfect for the role of Dr. Ryan Stone. Both her and George Clooney being Oscar award-winners, I believe you cannot go wrong with this movie. In the end, I believe this action-packed, emotional thriller deserves a 9 out of 10.

  1. Very stunning in terms of its overall spectacle. Just a shame the script wasn't better. Nice review.
