Fall Poetry Edition: "The Elastic Truth"

"The Elastic Truth"
By Chris Lemasney, '14

Who's behind the shadow's shield?

Step into the light.

Show me your face or show your mask

Show me your true colors

And your abilities

Is this too much to ask?

Give me a sign of reason

Don't give me your excuse

I don't want your lies again

I don't want your elastic truth

Who has told the iron bell

Of foolishness and woe?

Give up your games and walk the line

We have no time to wallow

In your shallow pool of shame

To do so would just be a crime

Give me a sign of honor

You're no longer in your youth

I don't need your thoughts again

I don't need your elastic truth.
