Marching Band: Brief Recap

By Paige Glenn, '14

On September 14, the Sterling High School Marching Band participated in the Miss
America Pageant Parade in Atlantic City. They performed their James Bond Show,
with songs such as "Skyfall" and "Live and Let Die", and patriotic songs like "Yankee
Doodle", three miles down the boardwalk.

On October 13, they also participated in the Columbus Day Parade in Philadelphia. The parade went from South St. all the way to Oregon Ave. The band felt very proud and ecstatic at the fact that they were televised  on PHL17 and ABC. Mr. Young hopes that this encourages students to develop a strong interest in the music program to join in the fun. On November 30 and December 8, the band will march in 2 parades, one in Pine Hill and Collingswood, playing Christmas music and wearing Christmas hats.
